About the Artists
MAWL is:
Jake Freeman, formerly “Protector 101” and now “Killbot”.
After a decade of being one of Synthwaves most influential producers, Jake went back to his roots. Through his journey he discovered modular electronics and was inspired to become the contemporary live techno artist “Killbot”. Colder, heavier and more experimental.
Matt Jordan is also know as “COGEX”
Since 2008, Matt has produced many raw forms of industrial music.
From the Power noise of “0809” to the downtempo of “H3R3”. Always doing what he felt necessary for the time…Dystopian.
Matt Jordan and Jake Freeman’s most recent collaboration, MAWL was born from the desire to create freely and directly. These long time music creators and producers were seeing to move away from getting stuck in the monotony of contemporary electronic production with an to capture what they were feeling in the moment, and express the visceral energy between them arising from the creation process. Celebrating this immediacy, intimacy and imperfections, the music evolves during the performance and is created in the moment, and by nature is singular and unique.
Together , they culminate to become a force of organic and determined experimental live electronics. Heavy and emotionally driven.
